About the Teacher
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child into my first grade classroom as well as introduce myself. This is my nineteenth year teaching in the Riverview School District. I began by teaching the Kindergarten Creative Arts Program and, prior to that, worked in a Montessori school teaching in a multi-age classroom. This is my seventeenth year in a first grade classroom in Riverview. I am anxious to make your child's year a great learning experience.
I did my undergraduate work through Eastern Michigan University where I triple-minored in Early Childhood Education, Science Groups, and Creative Arts. In May of 2008, I completed a Masters degree in The Art of Teaching through Marygrove College.
When I am not at Huntington, I am spending time with my husband Adam and three boys: Ethan, 17y; Cal, 15y; Max, 13y. My sons attend Riverview Community High School and Seitz Middle School. Riverview is a wonderful district of which to be a part. I am honored to be teaching in such a dedicated and friendly community.
